27/04/2017 - 01:18PM
WWe caught up with Dave Forshaw, Secretary, North West England, who was more than happy to share his experience of being a regional committee member.
How long have you been a regional committee member?
What role do you have on the committee?
Have you held any previous roles on your committee?
What made you become a regional committee member?
To have the opportunity of being a focal point for NW members with inside knowledge via APS HQ and to provide information, help and support. Learning from and working with other committee members.
What do you enjoy about being a regional committee member?
Ditto to last question, but I also enjoy networking with NW members during regional events and with the wider professional industry at national events. I particularly enjoy organising regional events such as CPD meet ups.
Why would you encourage others to join their regional committee?
Apart from what I've already discussed, it's a great opportunity to be regarded by peer members and operate in a respected position to promote the benefits of membership and association of a well respected professional institution that is APS.There are, nonetheless respective economical benefits to being a regional committee member relating to free Regional CPD events and discounted attendance costs at national events.
